OUIGO, our new low cost train service to travel from Malaga to Madrid.

The French company has officially established itself in Malaga making it the third train operator on the one between the Spanish capital and the Costa del Sol. What stands out about this company’s service? It will operate the route using its distinctive double-decker trains, it will have 509 seats making it one of the largest available and its low cost where they will ‘offer affordable prices, starting from the usual general fare of 9 euros, with a fixed fare of 7 euros for children between 4 and 13 years old, and free fare for children up to 3 years old if they travel in their parents‘ arms’. With these values, ‘a passenger could make a return trip Malaga-Madrid for 18 euros’.

‘OUIGO is a dynamic operator that is constantly looking for opportunities and we remain attentive to the needs of users and market demand,’ the company expressed to EL ESPAÑOL de Málaga. ‘We are very focused on starting to operate with the aforementioned routes, but we know that there is a very important growth potential in Malaga’, they add.

OUIGO’s aim is to make Alta Velocidad ‘affordable’.

Between Renfe’s 2 brands, AVE and Avlo, iryo and the new OUIGO, there will be ore than 20 daily frequencies in each direction to and from the Spanish capital, Madrid. Renfe will still be the lead in number of seats available with up to 14 daily frequencies in each direction, Iryo services 5 departures and OUIGO will offer two and three more bringing the total to 22 daily frequencies.
